Consultancy Study on Comprehensive Life Assessment for Critical 1500V DC Power Supply System for Operating Railway
To conduct a comprehensive life assessment for critical power supply system equipment (i.e., power transformers, rectifiers, switchgears and cables) on 1500V DC operation lines with representative samples to be determined and taken from the existing 33kV AC, 11kV AC and 1500V DC systems generally according to the service and asset conditions.

The Scope of Work and Delivery items:

  • The works comprise of comprehensive life assessment and electrical testing for critical power supply system equipment, including 526 nos. of power transformers, 9 nos. of rectifiers, 27 nos. of switchgears and 33 nos. of cables on 1500V DC operation lines.
  • Perform online and offline tests on-site for the power supply system equipment and off-site laboratory test on cables to assess the ageing index of the equipment and deduce its health index by adopting a deduction marking scheme.
  • Determine the remaining useful life for the power supply system equipment and provide recommendations on asset replacement strategy and priority.
