The Taipa–Barra extension connects the Barra Station in Macao peninsula to the Oceano Station of the existing Taipa Line in Taipa island. It goes through the lower deck of Sai Van Bridge between Macao peninsula and Taipa island.
The Seac Pai Van Line consists of two stations, Seac Pai Van Station and Islands Hospital Station. The Islands Hospital Station, in addition to its main structure, extends to the interchange station of the Seac Pai Van Line and Taipa Line, located between Station 18 and Station 19 of the Taipa Line. The Hengqin Line is a cross-border LRT route that extends to Hengqin Island. The line starts from station HE1, located nearby the Lotus Bridge in Macao, connected to the Lotus Checkpoint Station of Taipa Line. It runs along the Lotus Bridge and crosses the Shizimen Waterway through an underwater tunnel to enter the underground HE2 station on Zhuhai’s Hengqin Island.
This Project commenced at the peak of the pandemic, which has presented many difficulties for the project team to coordinate with all stakeholders using modern technologies to keep the project programme intact. Our suppliers are based in different places, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Singapore and Spain, and we have to liaise with our client in Japan as well as the interfacing contractors. We have established a local team in Macao employing local Macao engineers led by the main project team based in Hong Kong with some expert support from our Malaysian office. This multi-office project team set-up proved to be very successful in delivering on-time and high-quality services for this strategically important project, both to ourselves and the Macao SAR government.
